La Rosa Festivities

With the arrival of spring, the first festivals of The Poble Nou of Benitatxell. On the first Sunday in May the commemoration of“the rose“, name as the festival dedicated to the Mare de Déu del Roser or Virgin of the Rosary. A few days of festivities are organized around this day, based on their religious origin, and currently include festive events for all ages.

Each year’s Festeros organize the festive programming in which “els pans benets” (blessed bread) cannot be missing, which are distributed to all the houses in the town; the costume parade on Sant Pancraci’s day; the fun “carreres de galls” (“rooster races”) in which the prize is a chicken for the cuadrilla paellas; the offering of flowers or the festivals, among many others.
