The festive calendar begins in The Poble Nou of Benitatxell with the celebration of Sant Antoni del Porquet, which has traditionally been linked to the blessing of animals (coinciding with the name day of San Antón, the January 17).
The Association of Cavallistes i Carreters del Poble Nou de Benitatxell has managed to revive this festivity and, in recent years, has turned this celebration into a participatory day in which it is common to go out and enjoy a popular lunch, enjoy a characteristic parade through the streets of the town, with the involvement of neighbors and animal lovers from all over the town.Marina Alta. Stables and a multitude of domestic animals are the protagonists of this traditional festive day.
