The Cova dels Arcs is located at the entrance to Cala del Moraig. This cave sculpted by the sea constitutes one of the best examples of drainage of a karst system that has gone from continental or coastal to underwater environmental conditions.
Currently, it is an emblematic icon on the Valencian coast, since from its interior on calm sea days you can see the entry of light through two large arches and an upper hole. This cavity was initially developed in subaerial conditions and flooded during the last rise in sea level (approx. 60,000 years ago). Since then, the Cova dels Arcs has been subjected to the erosive action of the waves and the dissolution of seawater on the limestone rocks, which have given rise to the current presence of this unique cave.
