The Jaime Llobell Oratory is a hermitage in Benitatxell built in the late 19th century. Its origin combines religious purpose with social assistance, linked to the priest who promoted its foundation. Overall, it preserves an intimate scale and a strongly local identity.

The project was driven by Jaime Llobell, who promoted the building to support people in need. From the outset, the complex was more than a devotional space: it also served a community role. That dual dimension explains its heritage value within the historic core.

During the Civil War, the property suffered significant damage. Years later, in 1974, it was restored and reopened for worship, regaining continuity of use. That moment marked a shift toward active preservation.

The building includes a chapel attached to additional rooms. In the forecourt, a patio with semicircular arches recalls the traditional riurau language. Inside, the temple presents a restrained reading between Baroque and Neoclassical styles.

Today, a weekly mass is still held on Saturday afternoons, showing its ongoing social relevance. Broadly speaking, the oratory concentrates memory, vernacular architecture, and religious life in a compact space. Its most recognizable image remains the arcaded patio before the hermitage.
