Geology The formation of the cliffs in the coastline dates back between 10 and 15 million years. Large faults appeared, creating huge steps, due to the separation between Europe and Africa. One of the most representative faults is Moray Fault, and one of these steps formed these wonderful cliffs.
The cliff coast is full of uneven sides of its mountain landscape. These sectors of the coast encourage the coast formation as a consequence of waves refraction. When the waves are near the coastline, they arch and take the shape of the coast, accumulating sediment. Furthermore, we find the ravines produced mainly by the erosion of the runoff waters.
