Church of Santa María Magdalena, located in the highest part of the town, it was built in honor of Saint María Magdalena, patron of the town. This building dates back to the 18th century. However, some history specialists acknowledge that there was a chapel in that place.
At first, the church was formed by three chapels and a high altar, dedicated to Saint María Magdalena, Saint Roque, and Saint Cristóbal. As we can see, it is a building with an austere outdoor appearance, but indoors, it presents rich ornaments with neoclassical influence. It has a Latin cross floor with a single nave and chapels on both sides. The central nave is covered with an arched pipe. The main altar is closed with an apse covered with an orange quarter dome. All of these characteristics make the Church of Santa María Magdalena a special and interesting architectural building to visit.
