The knownCala del MoraigIt has a bar under the parking area as a breakwater formed by blocks of large caliber stones that were thrown to stop the strong storms that usually hit this part of the coast during the winter. And furthermore, they have become an excellent refuge for a multitude of species that find a place in the infinite hollows of the rocks to reproduce and protect themselves from their predators.
The suggested route would start from the end of the parking lot, from the very beginning of the beach where a large rock juts into the sea. From here we can launch ourselves and begin a journey that will take us parallel to the breakwater in the direction of the arches of theCova dels Arcs.
The bottom, as we say, is rocky and alternates depths that, from the surface, reach just over -7 meters, where the rock gives way to a white sandy area. The interesting thing is to fly over the rocks looking for the depth that allows us to enjoy the vision of the abundant fauna that we will find such as schools of seabream and mojarras, solitary thrushes or mountain thrushes and the always colorful fredis that swirl around finding food like some unprotected hedgehog of the many that cover these rocks. It will also not be strange to see a fleeting glimpse of a larger caliber fish such as bream or sea bass that so attract fishermen who bet here with their rod to obtain such a precious trophy. That is why we must be careful to check that there are no fishing lines to get hooked on.
Upon reaching the southern end of the breakwater, where the rock blocks disappear and the submerged wall of the Cova dels Arcs begins, we can reverse course, and it is not advisable to cross the wall that takes us into the cave because it is very shallow and we could rub against our body. It is better to return to the point of origin, recognizing the breakwater again at a different level and continue enjoying this relaxing water ride.
